TRICAD MS - Building Mechanical Engineering
Pre-dimensioning of heating pipe networks
For heating pipeline networks with the new TRICAD MS module you are able to pre-calculate the dimensions for nominal diameters and simple pressure lost.
All calculated values can be displayed in TRICAD MS and can be taken over into the datamasks. The program neither calculates heat loss nor the control of the valves. The pressure lost values can only be seen as a approximate value.
For more detailed calculations our customers can use TRICAD MS combined with calculation program RohrCalc (from mh-software, Germany).
The 3D TRICAD MS heating network - consisting of pipes, valves, radiators, reductions, elbows – will be planed beginning at the first pipe (click the start element at the beginning of the network). Two calculating modes were possible: dimensioning and recalculating. In the mode of dimensioning the program calculates the required diameters of pipes against the allocation of the heat capacity at a given flow rate.

With the calculated diameters or the current diameters (recalculating mode) a pressure lost calculating will be done. Thereby presets of heating flow- and return-temperature, diameter depending flow velocity, diameter depending Kv-values for flow control valves, thermostat valves and return flow screwing, Zeta values for elbows, T-pieces, components and pipe roughness values are the basis for the calculation.
The results of the calculation can be displayed and can be overtaken into the datamasks.
